SSAE16/CSAE3416

The new, rigorous international standard for service organisations: Our compliance is your compliance.

On June 15th 2011, Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 (SSAE 16) effectively replaced Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) as the international standard for Types I and II reporting on service organisations.

The new regulation is designed to insure that standards in the United States are in alignment with those elsewhere in the world. It incorporates more stringent guidance related to risk management and monitoring controls.

Few corporations have the internal resources and funds to achieve international regulatory compliance ‘from scratch’ – and indeed, why should they, when they can appoint a hosting provider whose infrastructure, facilities and practices confer compliance in most of the areas governed by the regulations?

Our compliance with industry standards means that you can rely on us to implement and maintain effective controls, processes and procedures in the protection and management of the assets and data you entrust to us.

Since we observe the protocol’s more rigorous ‘Type II’ reporting (covering the effectiveness of controls over a period of time, rather than their mere existence and design) we comply on your behalf in many critical aspects of your business including:

  • Infrastructure and facilities management
  • Access control
  • Network and data security
  • Physical security
  • Security policies, reporting and monitoring
  • Backup and recovery
  • Problem and incident management
  • Administrative and human resources controls
  • Business continuity and disaster recovery
  • Monitoring and management oversight
  • Risk management and remediation

Many features of PEER 1 Hosting’s secure hosting service and practices confer compliance with SSAE16 – backup options, firewalls, advanced monitoring systems, SSL capability, to name only a few.
