Earlier this week, HostingCon released its list of proposed speakers for the annual June event, taking place in Austin this year after many years in Boston. This year, HostingCon will feature 52 educational sessions presented by more than 100 speakers and panelists, including numerous industry thought leaders and trend setters. We’re excited to share with you that PEER 1 Hosting was included in the proposed speaker list for the Management track with our big data customer Sociocast!
In this proposed session, PEER 1 Hosting and Sociocast executives will join forces to dive into what big data means for hosting – especially in the cloud. Sociocast came onto our dedicated servers a little over a year ago after experiencing inconsistent performance while hosting with a pure-cloud provider. Since leaving the cloud and coming to PEER 1 Hosting, Sociocast has seen a 63 percent decrease in latency, experienced a 20 percent gain in CPU, cut its Hadoop cluster in half and can now scale with confidence – all at a much lower cost.
