CloudOne, powered by EMC Atmos
When we talk to customers or attend conferences representing ServerBeach or PEER 1 Hosting, the most common question asked is, “When are you going to release Cloud-based services?” Sometimes we’re asked about storage offerings like Amazon’s S3, or compute offerings like EC2, and while the definition of “cloud” varies, the idea of highly available and scalable services is something we have been working on. PEER 1 Hosting is committed to providing solutions using best-of-breed partners to address these needs.
A few months ago, we announced that we have partnered with EMC to develop a Cloud Storage offering based on their Atmos solution and we’re happy to provide you with an update on this. We are currently in beta and plan to launch the first Cloud Service, called CloudOne Storage, powered by EMC Atmos, in the coming weeks.
What does this mean to you?
In preparation for this product launch, we will be adding a “Cloud Services” tab in the MyPeer1.com customer portal. The tab is a preview of how this section will look and provide links to additional documentation. Over the next few weeks, we will be filling the menu links and preparing for the launch.
Why are we showing this tab to you now?
We are revealing this change to the portal in advance of the product launch to solicit feedback from you. There will be a section in the forums soon that will give you the opportunity to tell us what you like and what you dislike.
