We have just completed the installation of the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager software and its now available to managed hosting customers as a data backup service. The solution is built on our SAN technology and allows customers to reduce file recovery time and disk consumption. It will also allow us to manage the 16,000 servers we host in-house at one time no matter where they are located. Read press release

Barry at WordPress.com writes about the additional capacity they have added to beef up their infrastructure for both WordPress and Akismet. ServerBeach, our self-managed hosting division was one of two companies chosen by Barry to supply them with servers. Here are some of the details of their expansion:
We’ve entered into a partnership with ControlScan to give customers an affordable proactive SaaS-based security service that scans servers for the latest known vulnerabilities, of which there are over 14,000. Customers can access the service through an on-demand, user-friendly online portal. This service also meets payment card industry (PCI) compliance requirements and ensures servers are safe and protected from recent threats. This system will also allow PEER 1 customers to gain greater insight and management of their hosted server security.
